We’re emerging from winter hibernation and eager to play some music. This has been a tough season but it seems that omicron has largely passed through and that means there are more opportunities for us to share our music with you. We had a sort of coming out party at & Locks Brewing in Rockville … More Spring is here!
Fall is in the air and we’re looking forward to play at both some new and familiar venues. First up we’ll be returning to the Goodwin House in Alexandria for a concert on November 9th at 7:30. Well it looks like we’re not out of the woods yet with COVID but thank goodness for vaccinations which makes us comfortable enough to play some outdoor gigs. We’re so happy to report that we’re booking gigs again. We played two gigs last week and the calendar is growing slowly but surely. We got some great photos from our gig at the Takoma Park Artery Artfair (with special guests Jeffrey MacMillan and Bob Garber) thanks to our friends at TakomaGoldFotos. It’s been over a year since Djangolaya played it’s last live gig but now that we’re all fully vaccinated, we were able to get together for a rehearsal in person and boy did it feel great! JP will continue to spread the gospel of gypsy jazz but he’ll be doing from his new home in … More All things must change….

Djangolaya was busy at several farmers markets around town playing at Mosaic District, Pike & Rose, and Westfield Montgomery and will continue this rotation into the fall. We’re back from a week at Django in June at Smith College in Northampton MA and what a week it was. Classes, concerts, and jamming until 5am almost every night. There are not enough superlatives in my vocabulary to do justice to the experience. Needless to say, we got infused with the spirit of Django … More Summer 2018
“Little darling, it been a long cold lonely winter.” The last few months we’ve been on a reduced appearance schedule while our band members were busy travelling and outdoor gigs were impractical.
