Happy New Year! Djangolaya is really looking forward to an exciting 2018 with many events already in the books. First, we’ll be featured monthly at Claudia’s Steakhouse in Washington D.C. We kicked off this engagement off with a special lineup including members of the Hot Club of DC. ” Claudia’s is not like traditional stuffy steak and seafood houses with boring atmospheres. Claudia’s is a destination place for lively music, fine food, and socializing across the nation. Claudia’s Steakhouses feature upscale private and corporate dining rooms, large elegant indoor and outdoor lounges, and large bars. There are bright color upscale furnishings, decor with warm soothing tones and Latin and contemporary music echoing throughout. The lounges are equipped with contemporary white leather chairs, love seats, and couches and large softly lit bars as its centerpiece.” What better way to enjoy a special night out that with the sounds of Djangolaya.
In addition to Claudia’s we’ll be returning to some of our favorite spots such as Villain & Saint and the Red Heifer Winery and more so keep an eye on our Facebook page. We’ll also be featured performers at a number of Central Farm Markets around town so check out our calendar for dates and locations.
2018 promises to be a year where we introduce more original material. Jean-Pierre, Fabian, and I are all busy writing new songs that we hope to feature soon and record later. We already have several swing tunes, waltzes, and even a choro number in the works.
